The Presidential Debates Must Embrace the Internet

Posted under Blog on May 13th, 2008 by David0 comments

Based on a few recent experiences regarding the YouTube community, and specifically how the tool could help increase citizen participation in our upcoming general election debates, this post seeks to encourage the Commission on Presidential Debates — the Old Guards if you will — to truly embrace the Internet in at least one of its [...]

My Perspective: McCain’s Health Care Plan

Posted under Blog on May 2nd, 2008 by David0 comments

Today I’m guest blogging at John Hawkins’ blog, Right Wing News. I’ve got a post up that takes a look at John McCain’s health care plan that he’s been aggressively pushing out this week. Of course, I focus quite a bit on one particular provision which would require Docs and health care providers to better [...]

Are you using LinkedIn?

A few months ago LinkedIn came by our offices to talk to David about why he uses the site. They used part of that interview to put together a neat video of what the SocNet has to offer to political consultants. Watch it below:

Here’s a post on this from the LinkedIn blog as well.
You can [...]

Ever since the Twitter account @TheWhiteHouse has joined our ongoing discussion, I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s a real or faux account.
Today, I’m pleased to report that the riddle has officially been solved.

Three M’s of Modern Media

Posted under Blog on March 19th, 2008 by David0 comments

I gave a speech today as part of a panel on “new” media in politics to a large group of global communicators who work for Fleishman Hillard. I was invited to speak by my good friend Pat Cleary who is helping blaze new trails in the pro-business blogosphere.
My discussion covers the Three M’s of Modern [...]

Wal-Mart Finally Gets it Right

Posted under Blog on March 17th, 2008 by David2 Comments

A great article from earlier this month in the NYT on Wal-Mart, finally, finding the formula that works with regard to a blog presence.
Key graf: “After heeding the lessons of Wal-Mart’s earlier blogs and consulting with several well-known bloggers from sites like the Huffington Post, the buyers decided the site would succeed only if they [...]

DonationTubes: How and Why

Posted under Blog on March 11th, 2008 by David0 comments

Ask any politician what the best way to get a donation from a supporter is and they’ll begrudgingly admit that it’s when the politician looks that supporter in the eye (or via a phone call) and makes the “ask.” Begrudgingly admitted because all politicians hate to fundraise.
