Surprise! Obama’s web team is ParkRidge47

Arianna Huffington’s full post outing a member of Barack Obama’s Internet team as the culprit here:

Well, today I can end the guessing. Last night, we sent out a challenge to the HuffPost team asking them to hit the phones and contact all their sources. As a result, we have learned the video was the work of Philip de Vellis, who was the Internet communications director for Sherrod Brown’s 2006 Senate campaign, and who now works at Blue State Digital, a company created by members of Howard Dean’s Internet Team.

And now the press release from Blue State Digital which notes that Phillip de Vellis, or ParkRidge47 as he’ll be known in the politics + tech sphere for years, has been canned.

Typical over-reaction from Blue State Digital. “Let’s fire the most effective person on our team.” Back to being normal.

Phillip - if you’re interested in helping Republicans (or just beating up Democrats like Hillary) - facebook me. I’m sure we can find some mutual ground to play ball on.

For the record, I nailed it from the beginning.

My first comment on Micah’s post on March 7:

The email, particularly the last line, “I don’t want to say more than that. I’d prefer to let it speak for itself.” are particularly curious.

If this were just another Obama supporter, the person would likely dive at the opportunity to support his/her guy. At most, the person would be a total superstar among the Barackites. At the very least, they’d responsibly be falling on their own sword to remove any doubt that this was somehow related to Obama’s campaign.

No, I don’t think so. I think there’s much more to the story.

Reach deep in to your contacts list folks. Let’s hatch this egg.

And my post on ParkRidge47 not being a Republican:

We’re clearly not dealing with an amateur. This is very much a professional - likely someone who I would consider my counterpart on the Left - and they have a budget behind them.

Based on the evidence above, I’m convinced that anonymous user, ParkRidge47, is a skilled liberal operative.
